CIC CHARTER ANNOUNCEMENT:
Cigna Healthcare has announced a new charter company in their umbrella named "Cigna Insurance Company" (CIC). Effective Monday 1/29/2024 this new charter will be included in SureLC. All related
contracting forms will be updated in SureLC with the new CIC selections.
ONE PARENT CARRIER:
In addition to this change we'll be reducing the carrier selection to just one parent carrier that hosts all Charter companies. This will eliminate the need to contract a Producer
multiple times under various Charters to capture all states and products the Producer intends to do business.
Effective Monday the only carrier selection needed to contract with ALL charter companies will be labeled as "Cigna (Supplemental Benefits)".
This one carrier, Cigna
(Supplemental Benefits), will cover the following Charter Companies all in a single request:
Cigna Health and Life Ins Co (CHLIC)
Cigna National Health Ins Co (CNHIC)
Loyal American Life Ins Co (LOYAL)
Cigna Insurance Company (CIC)
Cigna Health and Life Ins Co (CHLIC) will be transitioning as the new parent carrier, renamed as "Cigna (Supplemental Benefits)". If you already have CHLICsetup in your account, you'll be ready to go Monday.
HOW WILL IT WORK?
During the Carrier Questions step of the request, Producers will be presented with a list of Cigna Charter companies to choose from. If your agency would prefer preselecting the Charters, these can be pre-set within your Schedule settings.
The Charter
selection available will be driven by the states selected in the request.
PLEASE NOTE: Cigna has rules enabled that may result in a rejection of the request if not adhered to.
HIERARCHIES: All hierarchies above the Producer must be actively contracted with each Charter.
If you submit the Producers request before all Hierarchies are all actively contracted, your Producer's request will be rejected.
If you're unsure if a particular hierarchy is actively contracted, please verify with the carrier directly before submitting the request.
COMPENSATION: Ensure a compensation level has been allocated for each
Charter company selected. Any missing comp levels will cause a rejection by the carrier.
To help ensure compensation levels are not missed, we've implemented alerts letting your Admin Team know when something is missing. The example below
demonstrates what you will see when there's a missing compensation level.
If you've received an alert about a missing level, please navigate back to the Hierarchy & Compensation step to enter the missing compensation
data.
Following these simple steps will ensure a successful submission.
